Dave Sharp - Latest News

After a superb weekend in Llandudno at The Gathering 2018 there are new dates to announce looking ahead to a Spring Summer run of shows and news of a new Acoustic Studio album.

It was an excellent weekend in Wales and a huge thanks to everyone for making me feel so very welcome throughout my 2 day visit to North Wales.

It was excellent to share the stage on the Friday night with Mike..the first time we've played together in a long long time. We played a short 15 minute acoustic duet set comprising of Friend of Mine sung in memory of our mutual good friend, sadly passed away Mr Stuart Adamson who continues to influence us both greatly ever since the early days of the Alarm back in 1983/84. It was great to follow up with a version of Gasoline Alley by The Faces who were a very, very important band to Mike and meself in the early days when we first met in North Wales whilst The Alarm was being formed. We followed up with a version of One Step Closer to Home sung for the first time as a duet. A very special moment for us both indeed. We both felt the wave of love from everyone and very much enjoyed the moment playing together for the first time in much too much of a long long road.

On the Saturday it was great to be able to play a full Dave Sharp solo acoustic set and I would like to thank all who were there for the spirit energy and joy which you shared with me and which I felt so well from the stage..amazing!!

Later in the evening I joined Mike, Jules and the band for a version of the Woody Guthrie anthem Bound For Glory which was an amazing way to round off a very memorable weekend indeed.

Once again I would like to say a huge thank you from my heart to everyone who attended and a very appreciative thank you for supporting the new Live On The Tyne release.

I guess this is as good a time as any to announce that I will be joining Mike for the Bank Holiday Weekend dates around the UK in May and I wouldn't be surprised if we both take the opportunity to do some more duet things together as we truly enjoyed The Gathering moment so much.

There are new Dave Sharp solo acoustic dates being added as we speak throughout Spring and Summer so please stay tuned to receive regular updates. I'm looking forwards very much to a Summer long run of shows throughout England, Scotland and Wales on another marathon Dave Sharp Acoustic tour during which I'm hoping to have news of a new acoustic studio album which will be the first studio recording in a very long while.

Thank you everyone for continuing to support the music and for keeping the faith it's always great to see you on the road and great to see you at the shows.

Bless you one and all and keep the faith.

Dave will be appearing at this years GATHERING 2018 throughout the weekend.

He will join Mike Peters onstage during Mikes set on the Friday night for a special acoustic duet appearence. It will be the first time Dave and Mike have performed in this format since they recorded The Bells of Rhymney in the eighties. It is sure to be an appearance not to be missed.

Dave will perform a full solo acoustic set on the Saturday night and will also be outfront at midday to say hi to everyone. Please bring along anything youd like signed and he will be happy to accommodate and chat.

Towards the end of Mikes Saturday nights band set Dave will join Mike for an electric performance of Woody Guthries Bound for Glory.

A new solo acoustic live album Live on the Tyne will be released over the Gathering weekend recorded on tour with Mike Last October. It will feature Dave Sharp all original compositions.

Live on the Tyne will also be accompanied by a commemorative re release of Daves first solo album Hard Travelin for those who didnt manage to grab a copy when it was first released in 1991.

Were all looking forwards to a fantastic weekend and to seeing you all there.

Go easy and keep the faith !!
