Well Hi Everyone As 2017 races towards year end for the finish line I thought it might be good to take a brief look back at what has been a stellar year and take a brief moment to reflect.
It has been a busy twelve months indeed not only touring the length and breadth of the nation solo but also having had an opportunity to join up with my good friend and old bandmate Mike Peters for a run of dates in October. With also 2 records released through Little London Records along the way it has been been a none stop Year of wonderful happenings.
I guess one of the stand-out events this year was taking part in the Rock Off Fibro festival in Chester last April. It was a memorable day indeed with two shows played on the same day. Funds were raised in good order and superb music was made throughout the entire event by everyone who was able to take part. Blessings to one and all.
With repeated touring legs to Scotland and North Devon it was a pleasure to have had an opportunity to play in the Birmingham area once again. I had a chance to hook up with my very good friend and Hard Traveling Bandmate The Right Reverend Charles Macintosh. It was excellent to share some time again and play together at The St Marys fundraiser in Cannock.
It has certainly been an interesting year on the record front with the release of Live at The Vic through Little London Records in May 2017.
I am very grateful indeed for all the very positive reaction I have received from all who have had a chance to listen, thank you indeed to each and everyone for all your encouraging words and thoughts. With also the limited edition special release of Hard Traveling in time for the October shows with Mike Peters making its presence felt with everyone. I am very grateful to all of you who have taken time to voice your thoughts and feelings.
It was a superfine thing indeed to see so many old faces on the October dates with Mike and Jules. I very much enjoyed getting acquainted with all of you who may not have seen a Dave solo acoustic show for a while, it was a pleasure to play for you all and thank you everyone for the wonderful energy, spirit and feelings you shared with me on all the shows.
Well I am currently writing from the studio where recording some accoustic material for the new year has been feeling good and sounding fine. I am very much looking ahead towards 2018 and to heading out on the road again towards new adventures and voyages.
In the meantime take care of yourselves and each other, keep the faith and see you all soon.
Bless you all. Dave.

See you on the road.
Well hey folks. After a superfine run through the South East taking in Folkstone Southend and Colchester and back North via The Fishpond in Matlock Bath for some fine relaxed spa style music its time to head up to Glasgow for a long awaited show with my very good friends Mike and Jules at The Abc O2.
I had a super return visit to The Vic in colchester where last November I recorded an acoustic live album which made it into circulation at Februarys Gathering where I last shared the bill with Mike.
Since then Live at the Vic has been recieving an excellent and enthusiastic response and nice things are being said all round for which I'm very greatful.
Im very much looking forwards to the 2 shows with Mike, it will be super to be with Alarm audiences again in Glasgow and London. I'll be making trips to Chester and Lincoln along the way and if you are able to make either of those shows itll be a fine thing to see everyone.
Well we're heading firmly into a Summer run of dates now and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who is supporting me and traveling out to be there on this seemingly never ending tour.
Go easy everyone, travel safe, and see you on the road.
dave.

Thanks go out to all who supported Dave at Folkstone Southend and The Vic in Colchester.
Stay tuned for updates.
Please note showtime for Saturday at The Railway Hotel Southend is now 4.30pm. Its early bird time.
Festival date added for August. Dave will play a show on August 5th at The Tartan Heart Festival on The Moose Mobile Stage at 7pm before playing The Market Bar Inverness later that evening 10.30pm. Its double header time.
The Easter Spring shows are well underway and I'm up here in Inverness kicking back briefly after an amazing trip to North Devon and Somerset for the St Patricks weekend.
Throughout the trip I was based in Lynton, North Devon with my very good friends Phil and Marie at the Chez Marie Vinyl Lounge. The Vinyl Lounge is a super fine Vinyl Record shop where anyone can chill out with a favourite record wired through some very excellent vintage hifi equipment with a coffee, wine or whatever takes your fancy. My time there was spent getting into most all of the Tony Joe White catalogue, mind blowing indeed.
The Devon trip included a return visit to Whatchet where I had played a festival the previous Summer and a show at a new venue for me The Blue Ball along with return visits to The Joiners in Bideford, The Marine Bar in Sidmouth and The Thatch in Croyde. I'd like to thank one and all for the wonderful friendship and hospitality along the way, a fine St Pats no question, thankyou guys.
From there it was up to Chester to support "Rock Off Fibro" at The Live Rooms and for a midnight show at The Commercial Hotel. Both events were particularly intense and it was amazing to have been able to contribute to such an important awareness concert. A huge thanks goes out to Dave and Jackie for the organisation and to John from the Commercial for helping to keep it all together.
After the Chester show it was an overnight drive to Montrose in Aberdeenshire for a first time show with Stuart and Miss Dawn, owners of a fine music house The Black Abbot followed by another overnighter on through the Cairngorms to Inverness. All power be to my wheels, the trusty "Blue Max" quite how she made it over the mountains I'll never know, it was a very close run thing!!
Easter will consist of a number of shows here in the Highlands before heading South again for 2 shows in May with Mike Peters in Glasgow and London, not to be missed!!
The "Live at The Vic" record continues to be very well received and there should be some press reviews posted in the next news update.
For those who might not be familiar "Live at The Vic" is a new Dave Sharp live acoustic album available via mail order from Little London Records. There is a link here to Little London Records also a link can be found on Facebook.
An excerpt from the liner notes reads: The album was recorded live on a cold November Sunday evening, 3 days before the US presidential election result. Dave gave a totally unrehearsed and spontaneous solo acoustic performance for an intimate crowd at the Victoria Inn, one of Colchesters premier live music venues. There was a palpable sense of something special in the air that night. It's all captured here on "Live at the Vic", alive, in detail, between the notes and between the lines on this new 11 track album.
Well I guess thats it for now folks, A huge thanks to all of you who are turning out for the shows and to all who have mailed in for a copy of the new record.
Go Well and Travel Easy, Happy Easter.
