BANK HOLIDAY SUNDAY 28 AUGUST

ask wah!t if…

ie…what if wah!heat, the band who played the last night of eric's went on to record the songs that made WAH! famous, like SINFUL,COME BACK,THE STORY OF THE BLUES, HEART AS BIG AS LIVERPOOL,but without big studio productions, orchestras, kitchen sink etc...

very exciting,very daring.
absolutely unique!
please try to get there as it's never gonna happen again!

the 'what if' question has come up a lot, especially in the damp dark swamp of the soul,[ask mani!] plus the bands who came out of the zanzibar/bandwagon scene are really into that original wah!heat thing, and obviously are 25 years too young to have seen it,and i want them to know my history,as well as the stuff that made me tv's pete wylie...

NOW WITH ADDED MARTIN CAMPBELL![lightning seeds/richard ashcroft]

I know him only from Mike Peters "Spirit of 76" lyrics where Mike sang: "Pete has seen his dreams come true. But that don't make him no hero, he's just one of the lucky few." In some interview he explained it was about Pete Wylie.

Besides that, Mike did a recent cover version of "Better scream" on one of the "New Home New Life"- MCDs, recorded in 2004. That's the only audio source of Pete Wylie's music that I've ever heard. Mike's version doesn't impress me very much, probably the original version is better. But I don't know. The audio links on his own webside don't work on my PC.
