Rocked The Roadhouse 21 January 2004
Soul Co's launch party at the Roadhouse, Manchester was one rockin' night
out.

With great support from local bands Mason, Dovestone & the Rev Coyote, The
Soul Company took to the stage at a little after midnight.

From the outset, it was obvious to all that these boys can play and they can
play hard. American Sky, first demo-ed by Dave Sharp in 2000 has been
polished to perfection by the Soul Co.

Some of Soul Company's catalogue is familiar to long term Sharp fans, with souped up versions of tracks such as 'In The City' & 'Preacher Casey', while others like 'Breakdown' and 'Soul Devotion' are evolving very nicely, just as promised on the back of the Time Travlin' demo discs. To complete the mix there was even a great version of Credence Clearwater Revival's 'Run Through The Jungle'.

Everybody has their own favourite & their own highlight. The guestbook & fan reviews sections have been busy since the
gig, thanks to all those who have submitted their reviews of the shows. To find out what everyone has been saying about the Soul Co, check out the Reviews.

The Roadhouse is just the start of Soul Co's mission. This weekend they play
at Mike Peters' Gathering 12 before returning to the North West and the
studio to record their debut EP. Further gigs are being planned, full
details will be announced here shortly.

Announcing www.soulco.org 14 January 2004
We are pleased to announce that the Soul Company website is now here.

www.soulco.org is a sister site to www.davesharp.org for Dave Sharp's new band The Soul Company, who play their first full gig in Manchester this Saturday.

Both sites will carry all the latest news and dates for the Soul Company, with www.davesharp.org continuing to cover any Dave solo activity away from Soul Co. Explore www.soulco.org now to find out who The Soul Company are - we've also got copies of some local press articles from last months warm up gig in Lancaster.

As part of the launch, visitors to www.davesharp.org over the past couple of days will have noticed that it has undergone a transformation. The look that was originally created for the Summer Of Love tour has been replaced with a new more accessible site, with updates automatically displayed on the home page and easier access to all sections. It is now possible to view archives of all news, tour dates and articles and there is new content including a Dave Sharp discography and lyrics for the majority of Dave's songs.

There are more improvements to come with a new message board due in the next few weeks and new features to be added across many of the pages. There'll be new downloads, the archives will be expanded and of course we'll be adding photos from Soul Co's launch gig this Saturday.

The Soul Company is an exciting project and the websites will do their best to keep up with the band.

The Soul Company Warm Up Show 08 December 2003
At last, the news you've been waiting for.

Over two years of Summer Of Love 2002 & UK Live 03 shows, Dave Sharp has been tempting us with news of an all new band. Well at long last, the wait is over & the final countdown can begin.

SoulCo will launch on Saturday, January 17th, 2004. Mission control will be Manchester, UK.

Dave Sharp will be on board, but he will be joined by a set of musicians with ample qualifications for the mission. Drummer Paul Burgess spent 11 years in the 70s & 80s with the legendary 10CC, before rejoining the current 10CC line up in 1999 after spells with artists as diverse as Joan Armatrading, Jethro Tull & The Icicle Works. Mo Witcham has played with bands such as Dr Feelgood. After 25 years as a professional musician, bassist Keith Ashcroft is now a top session player whose recent credits include recordings for SClub & Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Full details for the launch show & further plans for 2004 will be announced shortly.

Those of you who can't wait until the new year, SoulCo will be playing a one off, low key, warm up show in the city of Lancaster (where they have recently been rehearsing). The show will take place this Friday, December 12th at the Bobbin, Cable Street, Lancaster (Tel. 01524 32606) from 8pm. No tickets, no cover charge, just an opportunity to try out on stage before the full launch in January.

Thanks for keeping the faith, SoulCo will be worth the wait.
The Alarm - a Band Reunited 29 October 2003
On Tuesday 28th October, Dave Sharp joined Mike Peters, Eddie MacDonald & Nigel Twist at Scala, London, and for one night only The Alarm were reunited.

This show was put together by VH-1 as part of the forthcoming series ''Bands Reunited''. Contrary to many fans conceptions, the band did not have months to prepare for it, yet despite only being approached a matter of days earlier & only getting together to rehearse the day before the show, they managed to put on a performance more than worthy of The Alarm of old.

With a little help from keyboard player Mark Taylor, the band exceeded everyone's expectations. Although they could have chosen to play cut down edited versions of the songs, in an hour long set they played every song in full on, full length electric frenzy. Just as they did for ten years from 1981-1991, when it came to the show they gave the fans their all.

Set list: Declaration / Marching On / Where Where You Hiding (When The Storm Broke)? / Strength / Sold Me Down The River / Rain In The Summertime / 68 Guns / Rescue Me / Blaze Of Glory

After the show, VH-1 staff reported that The Alarm had been the best show of the series, both in terms of the performance put on by the band and the incredible response from the fans (which saw unprecedented queues outside the venue from 4pm in the afternoon and incredible energetic & vocal support once inside, despite hours of queuing in cold weather).

The show is scheduled for broadcast on VH-1 in January 2004. We will confirm transmission times here when we have them.

We would like to thank all the staff at VH-1 for putting the show together and providing Dave & the band with a sound that was perfect and an amazing light show.

We would particularly like to thank Brenda, Marielle & Ben of VH-1 for the exceptional effort they put into ensuring that all fans from both the Dave Sharp & MPO guest lists were able to gain entry to the show. Thanks are also due to Jules Jones of the MPO for her work organising both guest lists with VH-1 on the morning of the show.

Thanks to Mike Peters, Eddie MacDonald, Nigel Twist (and Mark Taylor) for joining Dave in a memorable & historic show.

And lastly, thanks to you, the fans, for proving that Alarm/Peters/Sharp fans are still the greatest fans in the world.
The Alarm One Night Only - VIP List 27 October 2003
Due to extremley high interest the show will be VIP list only and the VIP lists is now full. All those who have places on the Dave Sharp VIP guest list should have receieved e-mails confirming the name under which places are held & the number of places.

As it is apparent that this show will be very busy, we advice that VIP placeholders attempt to get to the venue as early as possible.
